Corporate social responsibility abroad
The Dutch government values corporate social responsibility and subscribes to the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. This contains the CSR standards for internationally active entrepreneurs.The Dutch government
expects organisations to act according to these guidelines when doing business abroad.

OECD Guidelines

The OECD guidelines indicate that businesses can make a positive contribution to economic, environmental and social progress. They also indicate that business activities can have negative consequences for employees, human rights, the environment, consumers and companies.

You can read the complete OECD-guidelines and more information on the website of OECD. You can also visit ' CSR abroad' at RVO.nl.

CSR self-scan
Compliance with the OECD guidelines is one of the conditions for participating in this mission. To evaluate whether your organisation meets these conditions, we ask you to complete a CSR self-scan. The completion of a self-scan will be checked by RVO.

In this self-scan about corporate social responsibility (CSR) we ask about your (business) activities and you receive tips about the OECD guidelines and how to apply them when you do business abroad.

There are no right or wrong answers. The questions give you an idea of how your organisation scores on CSR at this moment. It is important that your organisation not only looks at its activities but also the activities within its supply chain.

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency will contact some organisations that wish to take part in the mission to discuss their answers in more detail.

Important to know
The CSR self-scan is integrated into the registration form for this mission.

Please notice:

  • Each person who wants to participate in the mission has to register separately;

  • You decide who completes the CSR self-scan on behalf of your organisation. This can thus also be someone who is not a participant in the mission

  • The CSR scan your organisation completes remains valid for 12 months.
